Spantik Expedition is a thrilling high-altitude climbing adventure in Pakistan’s Karakoram range. Known as the “Golden Peak,” Spantik rises to 7,027 meters and offers a challenging yet achievable summit for experienced trekkers and climbers. This expedition takes you through the beautiful Arandu valley, offering breathtaking mountain landscapes and rich local culture. With expert guides, full support, and carefully planned acclimatization, climbers can safely pursue their dream of conquering one of the Karakoram’s iconic peaks.

Arrive in Islamabad. Our team will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Briefing about the expedition and gear check.
Drive from Islamabad through the scenic Naran Valley and over Babusar Pass, arriving in Chilas by evening.
Continue your journey to Skardu along the Indus River, with a stop at the junction of the Himalaya, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush ranges.
Take a rugged jeep ride deep into the mountains to Arandu, the starting point of your trek.
Begin trekking toward Chogo Brangsa.
Ascend into higher ground, setting up camp at Bolocho.
Continue to Spantik Base Camp, preparing for high-altitude camps.
Over 17 days, establish and rotate through higher camps (Camp I at ~4,450 m, Camp II at ~5,300 m, Camp III at ~6,050 m), before a summit push to 7,027 m. Fixed ropes are used for glacier and steep sections.
Return from Base Camp down to Bolocho for rest.
Continue your descent to Arandu, retracing the path.
Drive back to Skardu, where you’ll stay overnight at a hotel.
Fly to Islamabad—or drive via Chilas if weather prevents flying.
Relax in Islamabad, explore the city, or use this as a contingency buffer.
Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your onward flight. End of Expedition.

The ideal climbing season is from late June to early September when weather conditions are stable and temperatures are relatively moderate.
Spantik is considered a moderately technical climb, suitable for climbers with previous high-altitude trekking and basic mountaineering experience.
While not mandatory, prior experience with trekking above 4,000 meters and familiarity with basic climbing gear will greatly increase your chances of success and safety.
Essential gear includes insulated boots, crampons, ice axe, harness, helmet, layered cold-weather clothing, gloves, and a sleeping bag rated for extreme cold.
Altitude sickness can affect anyone above 3,000 meters. The expedition plan includes acclimatization days to minimize risks, but climbers should remain vigilant and report symptoms early.
Accommodation includes comfortable hotels in Islamabad and Skardu, guesthouses during approach treks, and tents equipped with necessary facilities at Base Camp and higher camps.
Mobile network coverage is limited to villages and Base Camp. Satellite phones can be provided for emergency communication.
Yes, the expedition package includes licensed high-altitude guides, assistant guides, and porters for support throughout the climb.
The team closely monitors weather and climber health. Emergency evacuation by helicopter or descent to lower altitude will be arranged if needed. Valid insurance is mandatory.
