The Broad Peak Expedition offers a thrilling high-altitude mountaineering experience in the heart of the Karakoram Range. Standing at 8,051 meters, Broad Peak is the 12th highest mountain in the world and a true challenge for experienced climbers. Located just a few kilometers from K2, this expedition combines dramatic scenery, technical climbing, and rich cultural encounters in Baltistan. Our carefully designed itinerary includes proper acclimatization, expert local guides, porters, and a reliable support system to enhance your chances of a successful summit. Arrive in Islamabad. Our team will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Briefing and gear check for the expedition.
Take a scenic flight to Skardu (weather permitting). In case of cancellation, drive via the Karakoram Highway. Overnight in Skardu.
Final gear checks, permit formalities, and rest day in Skardu. Explore the local bazaar or visit Kharphocho Fort.
Drive along the Braldu River to the last village, Askole. The journey passes through dramatic mountain terrain. Camp overnight.
Begin the trek with a relatively easy walk to Jhola along the Braldu River. First views of peaks begin to appear. Overnight in tents.
Trek across gravel and rocky terrain to Paiju, where the first views of the Baltoro Glacier come into sight. Camp near fresh water springs.
Acclimatization day to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the upcoming glacier trek. Enjoy views of Paiju Peak and surrounding spires.
Enter the Baltoro Glacier and trek past giant granite towers. The path is rocky and requires careful walking. Camp near Khoburtse.
Continue along the glacier with incredible views of the Trango Towers. Camp at a grassy ledge with sweeping views of the valley.
A full day of trekking on ice and moraine as you reach Goro II. Surrounded by Masherbrum, Muztagh Tower, and more. Cold and remote campsite.
Trek to Concordia – known as the “Throne Room of the Mountain Gods.” One of the most breathtaking mountain vistas on Earth.
A short trek from Concordia leads to Broad Peak Base Camp. Settle in and prepare for the upcoming climb. First full views of the route.
Rest and acclimatize at Broad Peak Base Camp. Final gear checks, review climbing strategy, and practice movement on fixed ropes if needed.
Establish and rotate between camps I (5,700m), II (6,200m), and Camp III (7,000m) for acclimatization. Return to base camp after each rotation.
Take a full day of rest at base camp to recover from rotation climbs. Prepare mentally and physically for the summit push.
Based on weather and team readiness, launch summit push. Move progressively through Camp I, II, and III, aiming to summit Broad Peak (8,051m). Use this flexible window for multiple attempts if needed, including retreat and regrouping if conditions demand.
After the summit attempt, return carefully to Base Camp. A day for rest, hydration, and celebration. Start packing for the return trek.
Retrace your steps back to Concordia, taking time to enjoy the legendary views one last time before exiting the glacier.
Continue your descent down the Baltoro Glacier with an overnight camp at Goro II surrounded by iconic peaks.
A relaxing trek as you leave the icy terrain and return to the lush camp area at Urdukas. Enjoy the return of greener scenery.
Return to Paiju. A day to reflect on the experience and share memories with fellow climbers and crew.
Depending on road access and group preference, either trek to Jhola or continue by vehicle to Skardu. Overnight in hotel or camp.
Depart early and drive back to Skardu via Askole. Enjoy a hot shower and rest in a comfortable hotel after weeks in the mountains.
Take a scenic flight from Skardu to Islamabad (subject to weather). Alternatively, begin the drive via Karakoram Highway. Transfer to hotel and relax.
Reserve day for delays or backup travel. If all goes smoothly, explore Islamabad or shop for souvenirs before your international flight.

Altitude sickness is a significant risk above 5,000 meters. The itinerary includes acclimatization days to help reduce symptoms, but climbers should be aware and prepared to descend if symptoms worsen.
